WWW Wednesdays (17 May 2023)! What are you reading this week? #WWWWednesdays

Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words, the revamped take on of the meme hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm. It’s open for anyone to join in and is a great way to share what you’ve been reading!

The Three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What am I currently reading?

I’m starting this #WWWWednesday week on #OperationNetgalley. I’m reading a kind of dystopian thriller/murder mystery which is a debut novel. What I’ve read so far has got me hooked – how would you feel about only remembering the maximum of two days worth of memories?! Scary idea right?! Anyway, here’s the blurb:

Today, the police are at your door.

They say that the body of your husband’s mistress has been found in the River Cam. They think your husband killed her two days ago.

You can’t recall what he did that day, because you only remember yesterday.

You rely on your diary to tell you where you’ve been, who you love and what you’ve done.

So, can you trust the police?
Can you trust your husband?
Can you trust yourself?

What have I recently finished reading?

A better week this week with three books being finished. Admittedly two are blog tour reads but they’re still reads.

So after abandoning The Marsh King’s Daughter I went for a palate cleanser and where better to start with one of my favourite non-crime writers, Christie Barlow. I know right, how is it that I haven’t read The Cosy Canal Boat Dream?! I don’t know but I missed out and went through the ringer with this book as you can read in my review!

Next up was a short read, not about food unfortunately but about a young boy struggling at school and going on a magical journey by opening his fridge door. You can catch my review on Monday as part of the opening day of the blog tour.

Finally I was kidnapped my Casey Kelleher’s forthcoming thriller The Babysitter’s Secret. I devoured it in a day – it’s out a week today and I’ll be reviewing it as part of the #BooksOnTour on Monday 29th.

I also spotted on Netgalley an extract for Katherine Faulkner’s forthcoming novel The Other Mothers. It was only an extract but it definitely piqued my interest. I’ve got her debut Greenwich Park unread on my kindle so I might have to sneak that in as well as getting a copy of The Other Mothers when it’s out.

What am I reading next?!?

Next up is Mark Edwards’ new release Keep Her Secret which is out in a couple of weeks!

So guys, what have you been reading??
