WWW Wednesdays (28 September 2022)! What are you reading this week? #WWWWednesdays

Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words, the revamped take on of the meme hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm. It’s open for anyone to join in and is a great way to share what you’ve been reading!

The Three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What am I currently reading?

I’ve decided to sneak in a free read in between my blog tour reads and I pick Any Day Now by Gordon J. Brown. I shared an extract a couple of weeks ago (you can catch it here) and I wanted to read it since. The high praise from Sharon Bairden (Chapter Of My Life) and Noelle Holten (CrimeBookJunkie) also helped make this choice easy! Here’s the blurb:

Abandoned by her mother, teenager, Catherine Day, tries to escape a life of crime by becoming a rock star—haunted by a surprising cold war family secret.

It’s 1982 and sixteen-year-old Catherine Day has been abandoned for good by her mother in their Glasgow home. Alone, in trouble, and desperate for money, Catherine is quickly ensnared by local criminals. In an attempt to escape a life of crime, she joins a local rock band.

She battles hard to succeed in the fickle music world, aided by a mysterious, and ever-present guardian angel – a man who has connections to her missing mother, her unknown father, and who, it transpires, is hiding a secret about her family and the Cold War that could change Catherine’s life forever.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine meets Daisy Jones and The Six in this heart-warming, heart-breaking coming-of-age story filled with humour and pathos.

What have I recently finished reading?

It was a two book week this week, both cracking crime thrillers! I finished off my trip to Bradford and Nikki Parekh. Uuuffff Dying Breath is gruesome and shocking but it’s a fantastic read from Liz Mistry- you can catch my full review on Friday when it’s published!

Then I dove into favourite author (and some who I owe a lot to) Noelle Holten’s first stand alone thriller. She’s crafted a twisted and threatening murder mystery to solve and I’ll be posting my review on Monday as part of the epic blog tour!

What am I reading next?!?

My next blog tour read is The Hike by the lovely Susi Holliday. The blurb really caught my attention when Susi announced it ages ago and I couldn’t wait to read it!

So guys, what have you been reading??
