Strangers by C.L. Taylor @callytaylor @avonbooksuk #bookreview

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I’m sharing my thoughts on C. L. Taylor’s Strangers.

This is another read of my overloaded Netgalley shelf so my thanks to Avon Books for my e-copy. Unsurprisingly, in the two years since its release, I also bought a kindle copy of Strangers.

The Blurb

Ursula, Gareth and Alice have never met before.

Ursula thinks she killed the love of her life.
Gareth’s been receiving strange postcards.
And Alice is being stalked.

None of them are used to relying on others – but when the three strangers’ lives unexpectedly collide, there’s only one thing for it: they have to stick together. Otherwise, one of them will die.

Three strangers, two secrets, one terrifying evening.

The million-copy bestseller returns with a gripping new novel that will keep you guessing until the end.

What Did I Think?

Who the hell is Ann Friend and what happened to Nathan and who is sending the postcards???? Questions, questions, questions! And these are just the bigger ones alongside, how are these three random people connected??

My three stars, Ursula, Gareth and Alice are all very different individuals. All with their own worries and problems to deal with. Their individual stories building as the story went on and their problems growing with it.

I loved getting the three different voices alternating through the chapters. when I thought I was heading in one direction, Taylor whistled me over to another path whilst I was trying get my head around what was happening to one of my three characters.

Taylor really got the Twitter chat bang on. People being nosey, saying the first thing that comes into their heads, people overreacting. If I didn’t know it was fiction, I’d have said it was copied straight from a social media thread!

Strangers is a cracking thriller from the keyboard of Taylor. I loved the supposed independent threads that I knew had to intertwine at some point, I just didn’t know how or when. That was part of the addiction of this book, that and Taylor’s brilliant writing! Another intriguing and captivating read from C.L. Taylor!
