So we’ve reached the finale of #NonfictionNovember with week 5’s prompt being New to My TBR.
Week 5: (November 29-December 3) — New to My TBR with Jaymi at The OC Bookgirl: It’s been a month full of amazing nonfiction books! Which ones have made it onto your TBR? Be sure to link back to the original blogger who posted about that book!
Like I need more books on #MountTBR but I’m a book addict, I accept I’ll buy more books than I’ll ever read! But these are the books I’ve added to my intended purchase pile over the course of November.
How To Be Sad by Helen Russell, recommended by Secret Library Book Blog
Open by Andre Agassi, recommended by the Reading Ladies Book Club
Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics by Dolly Parton and Robert K. Oermann, recommended by the Reading Ladies Book Club
Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover, recommended by the Reading Ladies Book Club
Her Honor: My Life on the Bench…What Works, What’s Broken, and How to Change It by LaDoris Hazzard Cordell, recommended by Doing Dewey
Kitchen Yarns by Ann Hood, recommended by What’s Nonfiction
Quite: Life, Love and Eyeliner by Claudia Winkleman, recommended by The Secret Library Book Blog
I Don’t Want To Go To The Taj Mahal by Charlie Hill, recommended by Adventures in reading, running and working from home
The Great Beanie Baby Bubble: Mass Delusion and the Dark Side of Cute by Zac Bissonnette, recommended by Plucked From The Stacks
My actual nonfiction purchases one the course of November (and some snuck through yesterday) came to 12(!) – I said I was a book addict! Admittedly, a couple I have already read via an advanced reader copy.
My #NonfictionNovember 2021
I’ve really enjoyed taking part in my first #NonfictionNovember. It’s made me think about the books I have read and want to read. I’ve found some new blogs to follow and I’ve yet again increased #MountTBR (doesn’t take much though).
This month I’ve posted my reviews for:
I also read Above and Beyond: Secrets of a Private Flight Attendant by Saskia Swann and Nicola Stow (review to come).
Many thanks to Rennie (What’s Nonfiction), Katie (Doing Dewey), Veronica (The Thousand Book Project) Christopher (Plucked from the Stacks), and Jaymi at (The OC Bookgirl) for an enjoyable month and to Nicki (The Secret Library Book Blog) for inspiring me to take part even if the decision was extremely impulsive and last minute by me.
Next year I’m determined to be more organised and have more nonfiction reviews prepared for November. By until then, I’m going to continue with my self-made promise to read more nonfiction.
