Wooo hooo!! I’m thrilled to be closing the Books-On-Tour for John Ryder’s latest Grant Fletcher thriller Third Kill. Alongside me is the fabulous Sharon Bairden so make sure you head over to Chapter In My Life and find out what Sharon thought!

Massive thanks to Noelle Holten for inviting me on tour and to Bookouture for my advanced e-copy of Third Kill which I received through Netgalley. I also preordered myself a copy which arrived in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The Blurb

In a city of sinners, a killer is hunting…

Las Vegas, Nevada: a killer is on the hunt.

When the two of the city’s crime bosses are found brutally murdered within days of each other, the fragile balance of Sin City threatens to collapse. It’s exactly what the killer wants…

But there is one thing this killer hasn’t counted on…

Grant Fletcher has been sent to Vegas by a shady government agency. He has one job: find the killer, and stop them before more people die. Stop them, by any means.

Would you send a desperate man to find a vigilante killer?

It looks like a dangerous gamble. But what neither the killer—nor the government agency—know is that the odds are never good unless you’ve got Fletcher on your side.

Fans of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne and J.B. Turner’s Jon Reznick will love the Grant Fletcher series.

What Did I Think?

When you’ve got a female assassin rampaging around the casinos of Vegas, leaving bodies and blood in her wake, what do you do? That’s right, you send in your unofficial fixer Grant Fletcher to eliminate the problem. Sounds easy right? Wrong! This assassin, the Mantis as she’s known, is very elusive, no one has ever seen her face, a ghost in the night. Will Fletcher and his trusted handler Quadrado succeed?

In this third outing for this duo, they have more that the Mantis to deal with. The local FBI contact Thomson is more than put out that reinforcements have been called in, highlighting his lack of progress. His actions more than once made me question his loyalties and more than once in the book, I wanted to recalibrate the sensibilities of Thomson. A total and utter dickwad!!

I love the relationship between Quadrado and Fletcher. As this pair have spent more time together they’ve got to know each other better. But every so often, Fletcher does surprise his female counterpart which keeps her on her toes as they scour Sin City for their target. The question is, will they catch her before she catches them? She’s a woman on a mission not wanting anyone to stand in her way!

Yet again John Ryder has created a cracking thriller which sent me hurtling round a city I’ve never been to before but I felt I was there in the midst of the action. The chase was tense, building to one almighty climax that left me breathless. Bravo Mr Ryder 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Who Is John Ryder?

John Ryder

John Ryder is a former farmworker and joiner. He’s turned his hand to many skills to put food on the table and clothes on his back. A life-long bibliophile, he eventually summoned the courage to try writing himself, and his Grant Fletcher novels have drawn inspiration from authors such as Lee Child, Tom Cain, Zoe Sharp and Matt Hilton. When it comes to future novels, he says he has more ideas than time to write them.

When not writing, John enjoys spending time with his son, reading and socialising with friends. A fanatic supporter of his local football team, he can often be found shouting encouragement to men much younger and fitter than he is.
