Nowhere to Run (Rachel Amphlett)

Happy Sunday everyone! How are we all coping with lockdown part 3 and home schooling if you’re lucky enough?

Well if you want to escape the current climate for an hour or so this Sunday afternoon, I’ve got the answer for you!

The Blurb

There’s nowhere to hide…

When a series of vicious attacks leaves the local running community in shock and fear, newly qualified detective Kay Hunter is thrust into the middle of a fraught investigation.

Determined to make an impression on her first assignment with the murder team, and desperate to stop a cold-blooded murderer before another victim is taken, she may be in danger of risking it all before her career has even started.

A killer is out hunting tonight, and Kay could be the next target

What Did I Think?

Death by running!! What a thought! I’m not a runner but I know those who do run love it so to be killed whilst you’re doing something you love is very bittersweet. But the two big questions are who and why? But never fear, Kay Hunter is on the case and as a runner herself, she is determined to catch the culprit by any means….

Packed into this pocket-sized mystery, Kay dives into this case focussed on exploring every avenue she can. She may not get it right first time every time but she’s a woman on a mission and she’s hell bent on catching this killer with something against the running community. The question is, how far will she go and will her tenacity put her in danger?

Amphlett has written a short sharp read packed with suspense aplenty. This 61 page novella felt like a full novel with the ground Kay covers in the investigation. This is a perfect read if you want an hour to yourself with a couple of brews, escaping to a fast paced crime mystery with one tenacious detective.

  1. All of which begs the question, how do you kill somebody who is running away from you before you even start to try to kill them?

That must be one very fit murderer.

    Thanks for the review
