The Crying Season by D K Hood @DKHood_Author @bookouture #blogtour #bookreview

I love it each time I get to return to Black Rock Falls to be reunited with Kane, Alton and the team! So I’m thrilled to be sharing my review today on the last day of the blog tour and equally delighted to be stop buddies with the lovely Zoe over at Zooloo’s Book Diary.

Big thanks to the fabulous Noelle Holten at Bookouture for inviting me on the blog tour and to Bookouture for my copy of The Crying Season which I received through Netgalley.

The Blurb

The light fades as she runs for her life, the forest now becoming quieter around her. The only noise she hears is the sound of footsteps following her…

It’s hiking season in Black Rock Falls and the small town in Montana is flooded with visitors. But when a hiker finds a human skull on a deserted trail in the woods that surround the town, Detective Jenna Alton is called in to investigate.

With no missing persons reported, Jenna has no leads. Then her team makes a shocking discovery – the body of another hiker, a young man, tied to a tree and riddled with bullets. Could the two murders be linked?

As more bodies are found, Jenna and her deputy David Kane know that they must venture deep into the forest to find and face the killer. But nothing can prepare them for what awaits them there…

If you love Robert Dugoni, Karin Slaughter and Rachel Abbott you’ll love this nail-biting thriller from D.K. Hood.

What did I Think?

Psychopaths are welcome in Black Rock Falls’

Winter is coming to Black Rock Falls. The temperature is dropping but this does not deter the hunters of Montana and not just those who are game hunting…

There is a serious psycho-hunter on the prowl! His MO is seriously twisted as MOs go but as I learnt more about his killing spree, my blood chilled with a shocking extra layer to the way this psychopath killer operates. D.K. Hood has created a extreme killer this time, I’m scared to think what goes on in this woman’s head sometimes!

Why do these lunatics keep choosing Black Rock Falls?”

As with the previous Kane and Alton books, I got to spend a bit of time with the evil individual who is tormenting Black Rock Falls. This psychopath is a strange individual, getting kicks from the hunt and the kill of his victims.

But the “well-oiled machine” that is the Black Rock Falls Sheriff’s Department are on hand. I have loved this team since I met them back in Don’t Tell A Soul. And as the team has grown in strength, they’ve become more rounded as a crime fighting team. Their team work is brilliant, each playing to their strengths and not afraid to learn new skills.

All I can say is D.K. Hood, you’ve done it again, another excellent crime thriller that is dark and twisted! Thank you and keep them coming!!

Who Is D.K. Hood?

I’ve always had a wicked sense of humour and was the kid who told the ghost stories around the campfire. I am lucky to have family all over the world and have spent many vacations in places from Paris France to Montana USA and Australia. I use the wonderful memories from these visits to enhance my stories.

My interest in the development of forensic science to solve crime goes back many years. I enjoy writing crime, mystery and thrillers. With many stories, waiting for me to write I’ll look forward to sharing many spine-tingling stories with you.

D.K. Hood is an active member of International Thriller Writers.
