Murder of Magpies

A MASSIVE HAPPY PUBLICATION DAY MARK EDWARDS!!!!! The follow up to his best selling The Magpies is now available to download and it’s only £1, an absolute bargain in my book!

The Blurb

The terrifying sequel to the #1 bestseller The Magpies.

Five years ago Jamie Knight lost everything: his home, his wife and their unborn child. But at least the woman responsible, ‘Dark Angel’ Lucy Newton, was in prison, and slowly Jamie was able to rebuild his life.

But now Lucy has been freed on appeal, and before long Jamie receives a message from a desperate stranger. Lucy is up to her old tricks—ruining lives for fun.

Jamie agrees to help. But once again, he has no idea what he is getting himself into…

What did I think?

Way back when in 2013, I downloaded a book called The Magpies by an author I’d never heard of, Mark Edwards. I devoured this book and it started me posting reviews to Amazon. And this book introduced me to psychological thrillers and I have not looked back. They are now probably my favourite kind of book!

Fast forward to 2018 and Lucy is back! And despite being the opposite side of the world, Jamie is drawn back to his nemesis after her release from jail. It’s like picking a scab; you leave it alone, the wound will heal but start to pick and the pain returns and boy does it!!

I was totally drawn into the story; I shut out real life as I read!  I don’t know how he does it but once I start on a Mark Edwards story, I really don’t want to put it down for anyone or anything! I totally and utterly loved it! As with its predecessor, I devoured A Murder of Magpies.

I’m not going to say much about the plot; this isn’t a long read so if I do say anymore, I’ll be spoiling things and there are #nospoilers here. One thing I thought fab was to see another one of Mark’s characters doing a crossover into the story. I’m not going to say who; but it made me smile!

If you have not read The Magpies, it is a must before you embark on this delivery from Mark Edwards.  Not only does it set the scene for what Jamie faces in this sequel but there are references to the antics that terrorised him.

If you have read The Magpies, you seriously have to catch up with Lucy and Jamie!!

A huge thank you to Mark Edwards for my early copy of A Murder of Magpies.
